Under the following conditions you don’t need to wait for the respond: If you are friends, if you have participated in each other's ed-courses or ed-events, or if the mentor has enabled the Open Message feature.
Direct Messages are a valuable tool for reaching out to someone for opportunities or expanding your network. We strongly recommend you to be clear, friendly and at the same time professional while sending messages. Try to write the first message as an engaging conversation starter and clearly state the purpose of your outreach in it.
